PAMELA B. SHEAR
Pamela B. Shear has worked throughout her design career in the fragrance, cosmetic and personal care industry, and has played a key role in the development and growth of the firm's personal care design capabilities. Her creative leadership has supported the successful repositioning of the Aveeno brand, as well as the new global Johnson’s Baby Shampoo line.
Pam is a graduate of New York’s High School of Art & Design and Pratt Institute. She began her career at Estée Lauder, where she worked for eight years, eventually becoming the Design Director of the Aramis International Division. She then became the Creative Director of the Designer Fragrance Division of Cosmair, overseeing the retail presence of all brands from Ralph Lauren, and Giorgio Armani.
In the last decade she has worked with a number of prominent designers and consumer product companies in the personal care area, bringing a unique design perspective that combines a deep understanding of consumer branding with a pure, refined, market savvy design aesthetic. Her clients have included Calvin Klein, Clinique, Donna Karan Fragrances, and The Federated Stores.
Richard Shear’s primary area of expertise is the development of strategic tools to support and evolve the visual heritage of iconic consumer brands. He brings over 30 years of global consumer brand identity experience, with a wide range of clients including Ahold, Coca-Cola, Hasbro, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Pernod Ricard and Procter & Gamble.
Richard is a Founding Faculty member of the Masters in Branding program at New York’s School of Visual Arts, a Contributing Editor to the Brand Bible, The Complete Guide to Building, Designing, and Sustaining Brands, and he publishes the popular blog titled, The Package Unseen.
Richard is a Founding Board member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts’ MetroNorth Chapter, as well as President Emeritus of AIGA’s Brand Design Association, and the Package Design Council. He is a graduate of Temple University’s Tyler School of Art, has spoken widely on the vital role of design heritage and consumer brands at conferences including the AIGA, thedieline.com, FUSE, Packaging Digest, and DMI.
He is a member of USA Cycling, a nationally ranked bicycle racer, and member of the Saugatuck Rowing Club, the 2010 Club National Champion.
